Relentless.   By definition the word means unyielding.  Viktory describes being relentless as the ability to stand strong, to not fret and to not turn away.  These are all ideas heard throughout his latest album Relentless 4 Ever.  After hearing Vik’s previous album Birth of a Legacy and the first single from the new album, “Relentless 4 ever”, I was very interested to see if he could put together an entire body of work that I really liked.  I was looking for a project that would hold my attention throughout.   With R4, Vik has done just that!

As described by Vik, the album has 2 sides, the faith side and the action side.  The Faith side showcases Viktory encouraging believers to step out on faith and to be a witness of what God is capable of.    Of course faith without action is dead, so R4 is also about getting out and making things happen, not only for yourself but through helping and teaching others.  Viktory does a great job of intertwining these two themes throughout the record.

The first single, “Relentless 4 Ever”, is one of the best songs in Christian Hip-Hop this year.  The high energy song, which focuses on encouraging believers to be relentless through adversity, is an outstanding performance by Vik.   “This ain’t no album, ain’t no movement, this is my life and the way that I live.  This ain’t business, this ain’t music, this is what I teach my kids,” Viktory rhymes as the song begins.  Later he continues, “If this world gets in my head then I’ll just work it all out in my prayers.   Ain’t no door I can’t walk through and go forward.”  It’s obvious he believes through faith and action he can get through anything and this song is proof!

“Unstoppable,” which features T. Haddy and Bizzle is another excellent track.  T. Haddy sounds real smooth on the hook and the fast rhymes of both Viktory and Bizzle are a nice complement.  I have to admit I haven’t been a huge fan of Bizzle, despite his popularity, but he really sounds good on the track with some of his typical good word play.

There are a number of other really high moments on the album.    “God is Amazing,” featuring KJ52 & Zg, provides some variety musically and I found myself singing the hook over and over long after I had stopped playing the album.  “My God is amazing, took my sins nailed them to the cross and he paid it all, he paid it all, Zg sings on the hook.   “Inside Look,” featuring Sho Baraka and J.R. is another track  inspiring the  listener to have faith and trust in God.  “So I just let go and let God, let God do his thing,” J.R. sings on another catchy hook.  Finally, “Do it for the City,” featuring Canton Jones and Andy Mineo, is a banger that I’m sure you will love.  Both Canton Jones and Andy Mineo deliver A+ performances.

Relentless 4 Ever is easily Viktory’s best album to date.  The only real drawback is that occasionally the album sounds a little repetitive musically.  Despite this, the album has so many good moments that I think listeners will really enjoy the project.   This is an album you can play all the way through and find no real weak moments.  Even better, you are going to be uplifted and encouraged on almost every track.  Go get the album.  You will enjoy it!
